Our Story
A home, for you, dedicated to Arts & Wellness
In 2020, we stayed home; we found new things to try and needed to entertain our children. A new set of waters appeared before us and challenged us to navigate them without faltering. As these waters challenged us, it became apparent there was a significant need in our community.
A home dedicated to Arts and Wellness.
Founded by Arian E. Witt, the Center in the Heights was created to be a home for everyone. Being born and raised in the local area, Arian brings a level of passion and dedication that is close to the heart. She is well-traveled and loves the diversity that the world has to offer. It’s one of the many reasons that inspired her to bring the concept of the Center in the Heights home to Elmira, New York.
“ I’ve seen the need within our community to bring people together through arts and wellness. I wanted to provide a safe haven of practice to the community, for everyone. It is my goal to promote the positive impacts that the arts can have, and I believe everyone deserves better access to these opportunities. it’s needed more than ever, right here, right now. ”
- Arian Witt, Director and Founder, The Center in the Heights
Our Mission
We are committed to giving the community warm and welcoming instruction with dedicated professionals in many forms of arts and wellness, from music lessons and movement to Light Saber instruction (LudoSport) and fitness, including Barre and Yoga.
Our mission is to provide a safe home in the community to practice arts, culture, and wellness.
Diversity is at the core of who we are at Center in the Heights. We stand in solidarity with underrepresented and oppressed racial, sexual, LGBTQ+, religious, ethnic, and other marginalized communities. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive artistic community.
